Affiliate Marketing: A Real Business Opportunity or Complete Scam?

We hear it in every corner of the internet, affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online. But how true is this?

Affiliate Marketing at Home

Is Affiliate marketing actually real? Yes it is and it’s how millions of people around the world make money online.

You can apply affiliate marketing to your social media, your blog, your YouTube channel, literally anything that has a following and that’s what makes it so great.

As long as you have a great product and targeted audience, you can make money.

Affiliate marketing is how I make 4-figures per month and that’s why I fully believe it is the best way to start as a beginner.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is the act of selling somebody else’s product and earning a commission.

For example:

You could have a website that’s receiving traffic.

When someone reads your content, clicks on your affiliate links and buys something, you make money.

You earn a small percentage of what the product is actually worth. It is your cut of the profit for making the sale.

That’s the easiest way to look at it.

So if a company offers 50% commissions on their products and you sell something worth $60, you’re cut is $30.

If you sell something worth $200, you’ll make $100.

There are loads of affiliate programs out there, some bad, some good, and some downright amazing.

Just like this one 🙂

Some pay high commissions and some pay low, but at the end of the day you have to match a good product with a good audience.

If you’re trying to sell a bad product, you’re not going to make any sales.

The Statistics

Affiliate Marketing Revenue

According to this study out of 500 publishers, 9% of affiliates were earning $50,000 per year.

65% of those 500 were making 5-10% of their annual revenue through affiliate marketing.

And the most surprising part? (or not-so-surprising when you think about it)

60% of the top earners had been involved with affiliate marketing for more than 5 years.

The key takeaway:

The more experience you gain and the more you work on your blog, the more money you make.

That is in the statistics, that is not made up.

That’s why those who are quick to give up are the ones that don’t see any success in their online business.

Affiliate marketers who stick it out for the long haul end up making lots more money than those who give up.

Those who continue to publish new content every year experience significantly more growth as well.

Affiliate Marketing Grows Every Year

Success Chart

Revenue from affiliate marketing grows 10% every year and shows no signs of stopping!

AM has now surpassed email marketing which was the undisputed digital marketing king for many years.

Not to mention that affiliate marketing is unaffected by adblockers!

Ad block extensions are becoming more and more popular, which is a huge problem with display advertising like Google Adsense.

In the upcoming years this is going to get worse and you’ll need to worker harder to get more clicks to your ads.

Well with affiliate marketing you don’t have to worry about any of that, and that’s why I love AM so much.

Getting Started

Affiliate Marketing Essentials

To succeed with affiliate marketing, you’re going to need all 3 of these things below.

You cannot have 1 without the other, you need them all or your affiliate campaigns are going to fail. Every…single…time.

I found out firsthand with all the things I threw at the wall hoping something would stick.

So here’s what you need.

1. A great product that’s proven to sell

2. Targeted audience

3. Lots of targeted traffic

Traffic

You can have best product in the world but if you’re not putting it in front of hungry buyers, you won’t make sales.

It’s as simple as that.

You can have a great product and targeted audience, and may even make some sales but you’re not going to make lots of money on a daily basis without LOTS of traffic.

I have sold a great product to targeted audience but only made 1 sale a month.

I just didn’t have enough traffic and that’s why traffic is one of the most important things you need.

Beginners are Prime Targets for Scammers

There is so much bad information out there about making money as an affiliate.

Gurus will tell you to create a blog and build thousands of backlinks for it to rank.

For beginners this is confusing and can mislead you into thinking you’re on the right path.

Yeah, maybe if it was 2010. That doesn’t work anymore as Google is constantly changing their algorithm.

Others will tell you to post links on Forums and social media accounts, only to look like another desperate spammer trying make his way into the internet marketing industry.

So who are beginner affiliate marketers suppose to believe if everyone just keeps lying and misleading them?

And even when you do find a legitimate training platform, they usually want thousands of dollars as if we’re supposed to grab the money out of thin air.

Where Do You Even Start as a Beginner?

In my opinion, the best way to start and thrive in affiliate marketing is with your own blog.

I get it:

Everyone tells you to start a blog, but hear me out.

A blog is time-tested, it’s bullet proof (meaning no one can take it from you) and your earnings are limitless.

Blogging has the ability to earn you 5-figures per month.

It doesn’t come down to how skilled you are, what strategy you use or what systems you buy.

All it is is a numbers game!

It’s all about creating lots and lots of great content. Blogging is a business, so treat it like one and you’ll experience amazing results.

If you have 100 articles, you’ll rank and make a consistent income.

But what about 500, 1000 or even 1500 articles?

Do you see the growth potential now? The more articles you create, the more you rank and the more money you make.

Affiliate Marketing + Blogging Is Much Simpler than You Think

The thing is:

When it comes to Google, all they want is great content. But it has to be unique.

Content is king and that is timeless.

If you can create amazing content consistently, you will surpass everyone trying to game the system and eventually make money.

Hands down, no questions asked. How do I know?

Because I was the guy that always tried the latest and greatest method and never found success.

I was the guy buying the newest get-rich-quick scheme but none of them EVER worked.

It wasn’t until I focused on the slow and steady route was when I started seeing success.

The reason I say it is simple because it really is.

You create lots of great content targeting easy-to-rank keywords, with articles monetized with affiliate marketing and you’re eventually going to rank and make money my friend.

Slow and steady wins the race, but no one likes slow. Everyone wants results now, now, now.

Well I’m sorry to say but the greatest things don’t come easy. You have to put in the work and never give up.

That’s the only way you’ll achieve great things.

So is Affiliate Marketing Real and a Legit Way to Make Money Online?

You be your ass it is.

It is the greatest thing to ever walk the face of the internet as I have the pleasure to work from home and I want you to chase your dreams too.

Thousands of people make money every day from their blog or social media following due to affiliate marketing.

It is 100% legit as it gets.

The only time it turns into a scam is if you promote a scammy product to your audience.

Because trust me, there are lots of them out there that look completely legit but turn out to be the biggest scams.

Clickbank are notorious for scam products. Even though they had a major clean up years ago, they still have lots of scams.

Conclusion

Affiliate marketing is very real and a completely legitimate way to make money online!

The good thing about it is that there’s no inventory to deal with. Just send people to your links and make money.

It’s growing every year, growing bigger than email marketing and shows no signs of slowing down, and that’s why you need to jump on the affiliate marketing wagon and get your slice of the pie.

Here’s the step-by-step program that taught me everything I know 🙂
