Is Leaving a Stressful Job the answer to your Problems?


We’ve all been there, some worse than others, but we’ve all been in a job that stresses us out and makes us want to leave.

Should you really leave your stressful job or are you doomed to stay in it for the rest of your life?

Being a man that pushes positivity onto others and believes no one should have to feel stressed, unhappy or depressed, I’m pleased to say that I have all the answers for you.

Short-Term Stress (It Isn’t All Bad)

Stress is bad, but in some cases it can work in your favor. Stress is a burst of energy that advises you on what to do next.

It can boost your productivity, boost your memory, strengthen your immune system and even give you motivation.

I’ve personally found stress to be useful for me, especially in the financial department.

I HATED never having any money and never being able to purchase the things I wanted.

I was always stressing over money because I always struggled to pay the bills or purchase my kids the things they wanted and needed.

I used the stress to my advantage by giving myself motivation. The stress kept pushing me to make a change, and that is exactly what I did.

I then created an online business and I am now financially free.

So yes, stress can be good when you know how to use it properly.

However, when your emotions start getting involved and it sticks around for weeks, months, and even years, there is a problem.

That is when stress becomes bad.

Long-Term Stress (The Danger Zone)


Long-term stress is what we experience from being in a stressful job.

This is the stress that has detrimental effects.

While short-term stress gives you maximum benefits, long-term stress offers the complete opposite.

Long-term stress actually WEAKENS the immune system, causes high blood pressure, fatigue, anxiety, and even heart disease.

This is what you are probably experiencing right now.

If you:

  • Have trouble concentrating
  • Get sick all the time
  • Get body aches and headaches frequently
  • Are more angry and anxious than usual
  • Have a different appetite
  • Can’t sleep or have trouble staying awake

Then you are experiencing long-term stress, the stress that affects your health and well-being. You need to do something about it before something irreversible happens.

Can You Minimize The Problem?

What is it that stresses you out in your job?

Is it the boss, your coworkers, the long hours, or the workload in general?

Try talking to your boss. They may be able to change your position in the workplace, to give you a job that’s less hands-on with different hours.

A change in shifts can give you different coworkers to work with too.

Sometimes a quick talk with your boss can make a massive difference.

I’ve lived my life by the saying; “the answer’s always no unless you ask”. It may be a yes or it may still be a no, but at least you done your part. You tried and that IS the main thing.

Will A Change In Career Fix It?

Sometimes the work in general is what stresses you out the most, and if that’s the case, a change in career is what you really need.

You may have chosen the wrong career and ended up staying in it because it puts food on the table.

It is actually what more than half of employees do. They give up on their dreams because they need money to put food on the table.

Pursuing their dreams means they risk running out of money and being homeless. This is what kills dreams.

And sometimes it is too late to change careers anyway.

If you’re over 40, it’s going to be even more difficult trying to find an employer that will hire you.

However, if you’re in your 20s or 30s, there is still a chance for you to make a change before it’s too late.

Whether you’re 20, 30, 50, or even 70+, there is ALWAYS hope.

We have endless opportunities just waiting for us to pursue.

The world we live in offers anything and everything, and the ones taking action are the ones living stress-free lives and making the most of it while they are here.

So yes, quitting a stressful job is the answer if you can’t minimize the problem. Your mental health is too important, especially when there are thousands of job alternatives anyway!
