UserTesting is all about helping companies create better experiences for their audience.
Big companies want to ensure their visitors have the best experience possible while they are on their website or app, and they pay big dollars to get feedback from real people.
If you have a downright bad website and you’re running a big company, you can be potentially be missing out on millions of dollars per year.
A site like UserTesting helps eliminate this issue as much as possible which is why these companies are so keen on paying out big dollars.
On their official website they are making some big claims.
For example, they say you can make $10 straight to your PayPal account with a quick 10-20 minutes of work.
So it’s just a matter of visiting a website, completing a set of tasks and then getting paid for it.
Although they say.
Lets find the truth.
So What Exactly is UserTesting?
UserTesting is a website that pays you for giving your feedback.
This feedback can be on a new app, a website or even a game.
Each test you complete that goes for 20 minutes will earn you $10.
The smaller tests that take around 3-5 minutes will earn you $3.
Now keep in mind that just because they pay good money, don’t think that you’ll make a lot in one day because the tests are based on your demographics, so some days you might not even have any available to you at all.
The trick is to keep UserTesting running in the background, then when you hear the “ding” sound, you click and participate as fast as you can before someone else gets it.
How to Give Your Opinion
When you click on the test, you will be taken to the website or app.
Your recording will begin straight away so keep that in mind.
The easiest way to offer your opinion is to speak your mind.
Talk about what you see and if it helps you with your navigation around the website or app.
You can even say what you don’t like about it. Take your time with everything, don’t rush it!
The trick is to be thorough with your feedback so you are seen as a high quality reviewer.
This will give you more tests to complete and ultimately more money in the bank!
Remember that quality beats quantity.
Don’t skip over stuff or cut your feedback short, because it’ll be classed as a low quality review and that is a bad thing because less tests will become available to you.
The Technical Stuff
So there are specific requirements before you can join and begin making money.
One, it’s only available to people in these countries:
- Middle East
- Asia Pacific
- Latin America
- United States
Secondly, you need to be at least 18 years of age and have a PayPal account because that’s how you’ll be getting paid.
Thirdly, you will need a microphone, a webcam, a screen recorder (can be downloaded from their website) and an internet connection.
Are People Really Making Money?
The big question that’s on everyone’s mind is: are people actually making money with this thing?
Or more importantly, are they making $10 per test?
Well, most people are claiming that it does take about 10-20 minutes for each video that earns you $10.
Others keep mentioning that you shouldn’t rely on this as your main source of income for the simple reason that you won’t have tests available to you all the time.
You won’t be accepted for a lot of them or even qualify for that matter, but other than that, yes you can definitely make money with UserTesting.
Does it Cost to Join?
No, it is free to join and begin giving feedback on the websites and apps.
Just remember the requirements, which is to be in one of the available countries, at least 18 years of age and have a PayPal account.
Pros and Cons
- A great little side hustle
- Payments are made to PayPal
- Can make a decent amount of money
- Free to join
- Minimal requirements to join
- Not a sustainable source of income
- Only available in 9 countries
- It is not passive income
- Tests don’t come all the time so you’ll always be fighting with others to get them before they do
- Sometimes you don’t even qualify for the tests
Is UserTesting a Scam?
There are absolutely no complaints about receiving payments or if they are scamming people.
Everyone loves the fact that they pay on time, every single time and they pay good money.
There are some good points, such as working on your own schedule and payments going to PayPal which is a very fast way to receive your earnings.
And there isn’t much negative feedback other than you’ll be competing against others to click on the tasks before they do.
Also, it is only available in 9 countries so if you don’t live in any of those, you better look for an alternative.
But other than that, UserTesting pays, they do not hold back your earnings and they offer a great way to make side money online.
What I Recommend
UserTesting is a good source of income, however, there’s no room for growth or a way to make a great deal of money online.
You can make $100 here and there each month but don’t expect to quit your day job with it.
I’m all about quitting jobs to do what you want to do with your life, and UserTesting isn’t going to allow that to happen.
So without further ado, Wealthy Affiliate is what I recommend to you instead.
They offer step-by-step training and the opportunity to make you lots of money on the internet.
And when I say lots of money, I really do mean lots, but it all comes down to your work ethic and your dedication to succeed.
It’s what I’ve been doing full-time for the last 2 years and it’s what I recommend to you if you’re serious about making big dollars and not just a few hundred every couple of months.
Well thanks for reading and that concludes this review.
