Gaming Apps

Make Money Playing Mobile Games? Yeah Right!

If you’re an avid app user, no doubt you’ve come across these gaming apps which claim you can make money simply by playing games.

Gaming Apps

Sure there is some truth to this and some actually do pay, but the majority of them are downright scams.

Apps are huge, the industry is widening and there are lots of creators taking advantage of this.

Unfortunately there are others who use people for their money.

Well in this article I’m going to show you how to spot the scams, how to find the real legitimate apps and explain how much money you can really make.

Hint: It’s not that much.

Without further ado, lets get right into it.

What is a Mobile Gaming App?

It is simply that, a gaming app you play on your mobile.

Simply go on the Play Store and you’ll find hundreds of thousands of mobile games at your disposal.

Most of them for free. This is why apps are so popular, because there’s one for anything and everything.

But that’s not the topic at hand today. We’re talking about gaming apps and if you can really make money from them.

Yes there are apps out there that claim you can make money just by playing games.

These types of “gaming apps” are getting larger and larger by the month.

That’s why you need to know how to spot the scumbags from the real, legitimate apps to avoid lots of wasted time and heartache.

Why Scammers Target Gaming Apps

Because it’s a new platform and those who play are easy targets.

I mean, EVERYONE wants to make extra money especially if it’s easy or you’re doing something fun like playing mobile games, which you’re going to do in your spare time anyway.

They know you’re going to fall for it as you’re going to get paid to do something you’re already doing, right?

Exactly and that’s why lots of people fall victim to these gaming scams.

Also, lots of children play games. All they see is flashing dollar signs and they’re happy.

They will keep playing because they don’t care if it’s a scam or real, they play for fun.

As long as the game keeps putting ads in front of people, they will keep making money from advertisers.

But It’s on the Play Store, it Must Be Legit?

No, not at all.

There are thousands of scams on the play store and Google work around the clock to remove these apps and ban developers.

You could also help the community by reporting apps that don’t pay you your earnings.

Common scams are anti-virus apps, browser apps and gaming apps.

Gaming being the worst because everyone loves winning free stuff, and it’s so easy to fall for an ad claiming you can win $1000 weekly.

Fortunately Google is on our side. They try to ban these apps as fast as possible.

Don’t Rely on Reviews on the Play Store

Do not think just because a page has thousands of great reviews and a high star rating that it’s legit.

That’s what I thought and boy I was wrong.

I just reviewed an app called PlaySpot. It had 4.3/5 stars and it was a massive scam.

But why does it have a high rating?

Well typically with PlaySpot, a lot of them didn’t actually reach minimum payout which was $20.

So they were just going off of their first reactions of the app, not a long-term experience.

They made the minimum payout $20 in the hopes users will give up before reaching it, so they didn’t have to pay them.

“But it has 4.3 stars Brandon!”

I don’t care, rating is not a strong enough indicator of legitimacy and that was a surprising find for me too.

6 Ways to Spot a Scammy “Get Paid to Play” App

1. Lots of Downloads and 5-Star Ratings in a Quick Time Span

Circling back to the reviews, one huge indicator of a massive scam is lots of downloads and lots of 5-star reviews in a fast amount of time.

Scammers will give the app lots of downloads to pump it up and get it in front of other people and will pay others to give them 5-stars.

This should be your first go-to method as it takes less than 60 seconds and can save you weeks of heartache after they don’t pay you your earnings.

2. High Minimum Payout

Look at the minimum payout. Is it $5 or under?

If it is, that’s a good indication that they’re paying their members.

However, if it’s $20+, that is a big red flag. It means they want you to quit before reaching payout so they don’t have to pay you!

3. Don’t Pay to Play

You are doing them a favor by using their app, so you should never pay to use a gaming app.

If they want money, chances are they aren’t 100% legit and are only out to get a quick buck off of members.

4. No One is Getting Paid

I know I told you that reviews aren’t a good indicator, but they are if you find the golden nuggets.

The golden nuggets are the little pieces of information that can make or break your decision to use it.

Go to the 1 stars. If you see a trend of people saying they aren’t getting paid, it’s a good indicator that they’re scamming members.

It’s not like they’re going to pay someone to give them a bad rating so 1 stars are usually from real people 🙂

5. False Advertising

Another huge giveaway of a scammy app is false advertising.

For example:

You might’ve found one of their ads that says you have won $500, so you click “redeem” where you are taken to the download page.

But when you install the app, you aren’t even given that money.

It’s just an advertising tactic to bait you in, and it works so well which is why most of them use it.

6. It Sounds too Good to Be True

Remember my friend, if something seems too good to be true, it most probably is.

I know for a fact that advertisers don’t pay a lot to showcase their ads, so why would app owners pay you lots for watching them?

If they pay you for playing games and watch ads, they simply won’t profit and there’ll be no point having the gaming app.

A good way to figure out if it’s a scam is this: If you are earning $1 in less than 60 minutes, it’s probably a scam.

Even Legit Apps Aren’t Worth It

Even when you do find a real app that pays you for your work, they ALL pay pennies.

You could work for a couple hours and only make $0.50. I mean, 5 minutes at McDonalds will earn you more than that!

The low payments are due to the fact that advertisers don’t pay much, so app owners aren’t going to pay much either.

At the end of the day, the ultimate winners are app creators and advertisers.

The lower end of the stick are the users who get paid pennies for doing lots of work.

It’s just not worth it.

I Know, It’s Hard Out Here on These Streets

I know it’s hard to find a real gaming app that pays.

I know it’s hard to make decent money on the internet.

But I also know that there is a better way than trying make money on the internet, only to fail over and over again.

These scammers aren’t slowing down and it’s only getting harder to expose them as they’re coming up with different tactics everyday.

I know I can’t expose all of them but what I can do is send you to something that actually works.

I fell for scams all too often and wasted a lot of precious time and money. Now I want to help you avoid the same mistakes as I did.

STOP getting scammed and do what you’ve wanted to do all along, which is to make lots of money and I’m with you every step of the way 🙂
