I’ve done the whole 9-5 grind before.
I’ve waited for a miracle to happen.
I’ve wondered when I was getting my breakthrough.
But what I did NOT do was try something different.
I continued the 9-5 grind and it did not get me anywhere.
Why? Because that is what everybody else is doing, and by doing what everyone else is doing you will receive the exact same results.
It lead me to following the same path as everybody else and I did not get anywhere in life.
“But I always thought a good career was the secret? That’s what our parents, friends and bosses are telling us…”
“Why wasn’t it working for me?”
Because times have changed my friend.
Read why I think a 9-5 job is long outdated and why you should screw it and pursue your dreams even when the “time isn’t right”.
Because guess what? The time will never be right!
When a 9-5 Job is Good
To Get You Started
Anyone that wants to get ahead in life needs to have some type of job to get them going.
Even if it’s minimum wage, that is still better than doing nothing for years and years.
Just getting started in SOMETHING is the key, because when you start accumulating income, you’ll learn that money is definitely important in this day and age. I don’t care what anyone says.
If it wasn’t important, why is everyone still talking about it and complaining about the gap between the rich and the poor? However, that’s a whole other subject we won’t be getting into today.
So bottom line: A 9-5 job is good when you’re just starting out as an adult, then you can use that money to learn and grow and eventually pursue other ventures in your career.
To Maintain a Certain Level of Stability
Working on commissions and sales is definitely good, however, you need something for the time being or you may fall behind on your bills and other payments.
Having a stable income is incredibly helpful when you’re creating other income streams.
It means you can calculate your earnings and based on your income, you can live a pretty steady life.
Although that is all you’ll be getting and exactly how most people live their life. Is not what I recommend (but more on that in a second).
To Keep You Afloat
Living steadily is good and all, but “steady living” doesn’t always mean you’ll be afloat.
Some weeks and months you will struggle and oftentimes you WILL fall behind on your bills.
There are lots of jobs that allow you to stay steady, but one slip up and you fall behind on things, and eventually it’ll be too difficult to catch up on.
If you can find a good-paying job that allows you to stay afloat after you’ve had 1-2 slip ups, then you’ll be in a good position to do other things.
What do I mean by “slip up”? When you skip a bill or 2. If you bounce back easily and in a fast amount of time, you’re in a good position. If it’s too difficult, you’ll constantly be struggling to live.
What’s The Main Keyword to All of This?
It is STABILITY.
I normally only recommend a 9-5 job when you need to get started in the workforce, to receive a stable income and to allow you to live in a home with food and electricity.
However, a 9-5 job is not for everyone and I’m here to help those who simply do not like it and want a way out of this silly grind.
Because it really is a silly grind.
It wastes “living” time and kills dreams.
When a 9-5 Job is Not Good
Relying on It For The Rest of Your Life
We are in a different age with more opportunities than our parents and grandparents had.
They had to rely on a steady 9-5 job because there was nothing else unless they took the entrepreneurial route, but back in those days it was more difficult than it is now.
Nowadays we have the internet at our disposal. It will never die and there will only be more and more opportunities popping up in the upcoming years.
And yes, these opportunities are big AND small, so they’re not all going to provide the type of “quit your day job income” you’re after.
However, one that does is called the Wealthy Affiliate, so definitely check that out if you’re serious about building an online business. There is a free trial too 🙂
When It Wastes Time
Most jobs are legit time wasters and people don’t even realize it!
Well…you realize it because you are here looking for an alternative.
However, so many people are living life on complete autopilot and it baffles me to no end.
They don’t realize they’re not getting anywhere in life other than living for the weekend!
People live for the weekend and that’s it!
Living on autopilot wastes time, and sadly 40-60 hours per week mindlessly working at a job for 50+ years is the norm and it doesn’t look like it’ll be changing anytime soon.
Here’s my take: If you’re job is not getting you any closer to your dreams, get out and do something that WILL. If you cannot get out, create an extra 2-3 sources of income until you can.
When You Can’t Pursue Your Dreams
Elaborating on what we just talked about, if you can’t follow your dreams because your job is getting in the way (in one way or another), your best bet would be to axe it as soon as possible.
Staying at a job because your too scared to quit or being fearful of the consequences is a big dream killer, and yes not taking action and procrastinating definitely does stop people from living life how THEY want to!
The Time is “Now” Because There Will Never Be a “Perfect” Time
Time doesn’t slow down and time will never be on your side even though you’re waiting for the perfect opportunity to follow your dreams.
Here’s a big news flash: You will be waiting for the rest of your life if you continue procrastinating and not doing anything!
Just take a good hard look at your life right now.
I bet you’ve been planning on getting your of your job for the last 10 years just waiting for the perfect time. It is not coming because the time to do something is now, and it will always be now.
You make excuses every time you back out of a promise or decision just to make yourself feel better, and I can guarantee you’ll live a very sad life if you continue doing just that!
I know you have BIG dreams because you are still here.
You are different to everybody else since you don’t want to follow societies status quo, and neither does anyone here at Job Quitters Unite.
You are making the right choice breaking the rules and living how most people can only dream of living.
What I Recommend To You
I’ve tried almost everything there is under the sun to living “the good life”.
And I always find myself recommending a blog for the simple reason that it is entirely passive when you get the ball rolling.
I have a blog (campingmastery.com) that I haven’t posted on in over 2 months and it continues to receive traffic and income. That’s because I put in the work FIRST and then reap the rewards after.
And that’s exactly how this blog works as well.
You can choose to promote whatever you want so you don’t even have to own a product.
The concept is called affiliate marketing. You earn commissions when you sell other peoples products.
I know you will make the right choice, so click the link below to see how everything works first 🙂
Can’t wait to see you on the other side 🙂
