You can do almost anything with your mobile phone and that’s amazing in my opinion.

But when it comes to make money from apps, it raises a few questions such as:

2. How much money can you really make

3. How easy or difficult is to make money through TaskRabbit

And this is what I want to find out today, so keep reading my TaskRabbit review for the truth.

What is TaskRabbit?

TaskRabbit is a mobile app that lets you make money doing tasks around your area or city.

It does this by matching freelance labor with local demand.

These tasks range from cleaning, mowing lawns, furniture moving, delivery and even handyman work.

People require work to be done for them, either at home or around the house and sometimes they can’t get the help they need in a fast amount of time.

That’s when they turn to apps like TaskRabbit to hire people that are actively searching for these specific roles.

There are other task apps like TaskRabbit but this one seems to be the most common and I want to find out why.

There are even claims of people making up to $2000 per week with this app!

Why Choose TaskRabbit over Craigslist, Facebook, etc?

When you find work on Craigslist, Facebook and other similar sites, you are dealing with an unregulated site and often times, shady people.

You aren’t guaranteed your payment after the work is completed because there is no middle man to hold payments.

The entire concept is built on trust when it comes to Craigslist and Facebook.

You’re agreeing to do the work trusting that those people will pay when they say they will.

There’s no middle man to hold the payment until the job is completed.

So what happens is that you do the job or task, but the other person scams and doesn’t pay.

Well that cannot happen with TaskRabbit since they are the middle man and hold the payment as soon as both parties agree on required work to be completed.

When the job is done, TaskRabbit release the payment to you, the laborer.

How it Works (The Process Explained)

In Summary: When your profile is completed and you become a tasker, you will receive notifications of tasks in your area that match your profile.

You will have 30 minutes to accept or deny the job.

Set up your profile

So the way it works is you create your profile, set up some basic details about yourself, add your professional skills and handyman skills.

You will also need to enter how far you’re willing to travel out of your area. In my opinion I think you should travel quite far if your hourly rate allows for it.

But I’ll explain more about that in a second.

Accepting jobs

Accepting jobs is the most fun about about this app because you can choose literally any gig you want that’s near you and make decent money in exchange for your labor and services.

For example:

  • Someone got hired to just be present in an office to make it look busier when clients walked in
  • Another got paid to park strollers outside a preschool for 8 days
  • One person got paid $70/hour just to fold t-shirts

Other jobs you’ll find on TaskRabbit are: doing someones weekly shopping, furniture moving, mowing lawns, landscaping, putting together a desk, general handyman work and cleaning.

There are thousands of different tasks and you can choose whichever one interests you the most.

How Much Money Can You Really Make?

So are some “taskers” really earning $60 – $150 an hour just doing simple little tasks?

And the answer is a resounding yes.

There are actually people making mountains of money with TaskRabbit and it’s become a huge make money app in the side hustle community.

People all over the globe are jumping on this app and making a good side income.

And others are even making it their full-time job. The rumors of people making $2000 per week is actually true.

Those are the ones that have honed their skills, used the app for years, learned the ropes, done what works and duplicated what works.

I mean, that’s really the only way to get good at TaskRabbit.

You won’t become an expert overnight, you have to put in the time and work and get better over time.

When you can do that, you can make a heck of a lot of money!

How Much are Average Taskers Making?

So $2000 per week is what the top dogs are making, but what about the average user?

If the average user isn’t making much then newbies definitely will not make much.

As it turns out, the average person who joins TaskRabbit earns $110 a month.

That’s actually surprisingly more money than other make money apps out there.

Even most MLMs have less average earnings than that, and those people usually pay a significant fee before joining.

How to Make as Much Money as Possible

The Customer is Always Right

Even if the customer is wrong, you need to be on their good side to get a good review and build a highly trusting profile.

Potential buyers will always look at your profile and see what others have said about you. If they like you, they will hire you directly from your profile instead of sending out alerts.

TaskRabbit Profiles

And those who have the best stars and reviews are the first to get the job.

Those who have negative reviews will not get hired directly from their profile.

Get In and Try

Standing back and watching everyone else make the money is not going to get you anywhere.

The only way to learn the ropes, practice and build up your profile is to get in and do the job.

Even if it’s something you don’t like, if it has a good hourly rate and it’s close by, go for it!

This will get you accustomed to how TaskRabbit works and you will get better over time.

Be Flexible

Being able to pick up jobs at the last minute, when people are desperate, is a great way to make lots of money.

At this point they are desperate to get the job done and won’t give your hourly rate a second thought.

Another example of being flexible is to travel over long distances to get a job done, and I’ll tell you why below.

Be Willing to Travel

Even if you have to commute an hour to a job and an hour back, the hourly rate you set for the job is going to cover the gas and time expenses.

Plus you’re going get a good review and build your profile, which is the ultimate goal at the end of the day.

Because with a great profile comes a trusted and in demand person that everyone wants!

TaskRabbit Takes a 30% Cut

Keep in mind that TaskRabbit takes a 30% cut for providing a safe and secure service for everyone.

If a task offers $50 an hour, that goes down to $35 an hour after the 30% cut.

I mean, yes it is a hefty amount but I think it’s worth it considering you KNOW you are guaranteed your payment once the job is completed.

This gives taskers a peace of mind. Taskers can go in and do the job knowing they’re not going to be scammed.

When you use sites like Craigslist, you are really taking a gamble because there’s no middle man, there’s no security and there’s a high chance of getting scammed.

Getting Around the 30% Cut?

There is no way to get around TaskRabbits 30% cut unless you don’t use their site altogether and use Craigslist or Facebook, however, this a surefire way to getting scammed.

There is another way to get around the 30% cut, and that is to up your hourly rate.

Instead of setting your hourly rate at $50, bump it up to $60 to compensate for the huge fee.

Important to note: Don’t do this straight away, do this after you have a few “amazing” reviews on your belt. That way people know they’re paying for someone who knows their sh*t.

Pros and Cons

  • Legit way to make money
  • Can make a substantial amount of money
  • Can set your own hourly rate
  • Free to join

  • Only limited to a certain number of cities
  • Takes a while to build up your reputation
  • Requires hard work and dedication if you really want to “make it” and succeed
  • They ask for a whopping 30% fee

So All in All, Is TaskRabbit a Scam?

TaskRabbit is not a scam and it’s actually getting bigger and bigger as the years go by.

It’s true that some people are making this as their full-time job and I think that is amazing.

Of course it’s not easy money but it does allow you to live life on your own terms and you don’t have to answer to a boss everyday.

The main con is the hefty 30% fee but at least it’s 100% legit and you know you’re going to get paid for your work.

TaskRabbit is legit and one of the few apps out there that actually pay good money.

Making Money Without Leaving the House

TaskRabbit is definitely legit and a way to make money with your mobile device, and even though you can make decent money, it’s not my #1 recommendation.

I actually prefer making money from the comfort of my own home.

So that means not getting off my couch and taking one step out the door.

I actually make money as a blogger. I write articles, getting them ranked in the search engines and making money with affiliate marketing.

I prefer this route because I don’t deal with people, I don’t need to leave my house, I don’t face 30% price cuts and I make money around the clock (and that means while I’m sleeping).

The unfortunate thing about TaskRabbit is that taskers only make money for doing a task, there’s no passive income opportunity.

So when taskers stop working for the day, their income stops.

Well with blogging, I make money literally 24/7 and that’s why I recommend this over anything else.

Here’s the exact same system I use

Well that concludes my TaskRabbit review.
