What I Did When I Was Sick of Working For Others

  • by

I worked in a meat processing plant for 6 and a half years and hated every second of it. I was sick and tired of working for someone else just like you are.

Farewell

It wasn’t the people or the bosses, in fact, the people were amazing and fun. They liked to have a good time while they worked.

I have the entreprenurial mindset, and you probably do too if you landed on this page.

Us sort of people absolutely despise working for others and have big dreams of being our own boss.

After 6.5 years of literally slaving away doing the same thing day in, day out, I finally took the giant leap and got my ass out of there.

In this article I’m going to share some lessons I learnt throughout the years and what you can do to help your situation and make you a happier person.

You Have to Take Risks

Taking risks is a given.

You have to take risks to get ahead in life.

If you play the safe route, you will never know how far you can go and what you can really achieve.

I quit that job and took to the internet for answers.

I had a partner and 2 kids. My partner had a job but this was going to cut down our paycheck tremendously.

But I was willing to take the jump and see what I could achieve now that I had all day to work on something.

Without seeing it for yourself, you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life.

So don’t be afraid of taking risks. You might fall but that’s okay, adjust your course and continue on your path.

Make changes to get back on track, it’s not a failure until you give up.

I failed, over and over again

Yep, I admit it. I didn’t fail once but I continued to fail actually.

Here was my plan: quit my job and try to make money online.

I was tired of working for others so I tried to be my own boss. I know I know…we all have these hopes and dreams, but only 1% actually take action to get there.

Well it was 2015 and I quit my job…I had no set goals other than I was going to do whatever it takes to make this dream a reality.

I tried Google Sniper and spent hundreds of dollars trying to succeed. You can even read my full review here.

I tried for months trying to get my sites to rank, but they never did.

Then I started a blog and used spun content to rank in Google and make money with Google Adsense.

Well needless to say, spun content did not rank and Google actually penalized those types of websites (something I did not know at the time).

So again, I failed and spent months wasting my time on that blog.

Then I tried my hand at the adult industry.

No no no, not how you think, get your mind out of the gutter. I did not make porn movies!

And to be honest I did actually make some money.

I found a method on the Blackhat forums money making category.

I do not recommend you try anything over there though, as most of those guys are newbies and the “top guys” sharing their methods have exhausted the strategies already.

So you’re only getting second-hand methods, the ones that don’t really work anymore.

I know because I’ve tried lots of them. Some have worked but not made a significant amount of money, and traffic and income just die down.

So anyway, back to my adult venture.

Basically, scheduling pictures to my blog, then they would automatically post to social medias.

Money was made via CPA offers and mobile redirects.

This was my first online venture that actually made me money.

That was good for a few months but then my main traffic source banned all my blogs, so income went from $5-$10 a day down to nothing.

I gave up on that method altogether.

Nothing worked up until July 2016 when I found the Wealthy Affiliate and started my Camping website.

My camping site is an Amazon affiliate site, meaning it has links to Amazon and I earn commissions when I make a sale.

I started my camping site from scratch, wrote all content myself and kept everything unique.

After a few months of working hard writing lots of content, my site started ranking and making sales.

I knew all I needed to do was write more content to increase earnings, so that’s what I did.

Fast forward to today (2019), I also have the website you’re reading now and I am now making a full-time income online.

Lessons I Learned

You have to take risks in life

Taking a Risk

If you’re always trying to play it safe because you’re scared of failing, then you my friend have already failed.

You only fail when you give up on your dreams.

If you don’t take risks now, you probably never will and you’ll regret it when it’s too late.

Hard work pays off

I remember Tai Lopez saying you need the “deserve it” factor if you want to succeed.

As in, what are you doing that makes you deserve success?

Are you sitting on video games 12 hours a day? Then you don’t deserve it.

Are you making excuses and scrolling through social media instead of working on your dreams? Then you don’t deserve it.

Or are you working on something every day to move you towards your goals or dreams?

Then you definitely deserve it and the hard work you’re putting in now will pay off later.

You need the right training

Remember how I said I was making a few dollars a day with those methods on the forums?

Well that is not the right training and a good reason why my income was fluctuating everyday, and eventually died down entirely.

You need training that’s proven to work since 2004, has won multiple awards and still holds the award for the best affiliate marketing training in the world.

That was a shameless plug but I highly recommend it if you want to build an online business like I did.

Hell, it’s free to join so why not?

Your Next Step

Man Working on Laptop

You’re going to need a business of some sort, because you are tired of working for someone else and being your own boss is what you really want to do in life.

I recommend blogging because that’s the only thing that worked for me and if you go through that link above, you will start the exact process as I did.

Should your next step be what I did and kick your job to the curb?

It can be but you need to be in that position, as in, do you have savings to pay your bills until you can make daily income?

Maybe your only approach is working on your business in your free time until it’s making enough money.

But remember it takes constant work.

Work needs to be put in everyday and eventually rankings and money will come.

It can take months or years, but depending on how hard you work each day, it can come quicker.

Don’t Expect Instant Results

The wrong mindset is starting something and expecting to become rich overnight.

And that’s where most people fail.

Success is a long game, not a short one.

You’ll receive FAR more success sticking to something for 6 months than if you only gave yourself a week before giving up.

Furthermore, stick to something for 5 years or even 10 years and results are something you never imagined.

So realize that building an online business takes work and time, lots of it.

If it was so easy to do, everyone would be doing it and no one would have jobs.

That’s My 2 Cents

Well that’s my 2 cents about my online money making venture after quitting my job.

What’s the difference between me and you?

Nothing. We both want the same things, which is to be our own boss and live life on our own terms.

I was sick and tired just like you, but the only difference is I took action, put in the work and played the long game.

Do that and you will find results and success coming your way.

Well thanks for reading.
